The Good News
Today we have sunny skies.
Take a break from whatever it is
that isn’t what you’re good at,
sit on a chair, and radiate bliss.
Let’s let those tomatoes ripen
while we don’t go on and on
about life and how great
it hasn’t been, what with news
ever holding forth at our doors.
Okay, let’s assume you also
aren’t good at not doing things
you’re not good at. I love you.
There’s a salary to be made
if no fortune to be slowly spent.
Fine, let’s just imagine this.
Next let’s drive north a-ways
and park in an open field,
unbuckle, get out, and cheer.
Let’s just unhook and let plop
down our backpacks of frown
and then fasten yesses
to each of our parachute vests
as we tumble up sleepily into
bright and sadnessless light.

I love this. Thank you, Aaron.
